Product Description

ANSI C136.31-2023 Standard Interpretation

Latest Standards | National Standards for Road and Regional Lighting Equipment in the United States Vibration NEMA ANSI C136.31-2023 Standard Interpretation

1 Test Scope:

This standard covers the minimum vibration resistance and vibration test methods for laneway lamps and regional lamps. This standard does not apply to natural disasters or catastrophic disasters.

2 The vibrations caused by the outside world in the actual use of road area lighting include the following two aspects:

a. Vibration caused by wind.

b. Vibration caused by passing vehicles.

3 Test method:

3.1 Resonance frequency search

Frequency range (Hz): 2-30;

Acceleration (g): 0.2;

Sweep rate (oct/min): 1;

Test axis: X, Y, Z.

That is: within the frequency range of 2~30Hz, with an acceleration of 0.2g and a sweep rate of 10ct/min, measure the resonant frequency of the lamp on three axes (X/Y/Z), and perform durability test (resonance frequency) at the most severe frequency.

3.2 Constant frequency endurance test

Test frequency: The resonant frequency measured in 3.1; if there is no resonant frequency, test at 30Hz;

Acceleration: Select from Table 1/Table 2, 3g is the most common;

Number of tests: 100,000 times.

Test time T=N/60f N is the number of tests, f is the test frequency

For example: if the resonant frequency is 6.95Hz, the test time T=4 hours
