Canadian wireless standard RSS-247 update
In August 2023, the IC officially released the latest version of the radio standard specification RSS-247, issue 3 of the RSS-247 standard, replacing RSS-247, issue 2 released in February 2017.
RSS-247 working frequency band:
902-928MHz, 2400-2483.5 MHz, 5150-5250 MHz, 5250-5350, 5470-5600 MHz or
5650-5725 MHz and 5725-5850 MHz.
Applicable equipment:
1). Digital transmission system (DTS), frequency hopping system (FHS) and license-free local area network (LE-LAN) equipment;
2). Bluetooth headset, 2.4G WIFI/5GWIFI router or custom mouse working in the 2.4G band, etc.;
Changes:
1). Added Section 2.1 to include information on the document that will take effect soon;
2). Modified Section 6.2 to clarify that different measurement methods can be applied depending on the operating frequency range of the equipment;
3). Added Section 6.2.5 to introduce the requirements for equipment operation 5850-5895MHz and channels across 5850 MHz;
4). Added Section 6.2.5.1 to provide general information and definitions;
5). Added Section 6.2.5.2 to identify power limits associated with equipment operation in the 5850-5895 MHz band;
6). Added Section 6.2.5.3 to identify equipment operating in the 5850-5895 MHz band; MHz band equipment;
7). Make editorial changes and clarifications as appropriate;
