Product Description

How to apply for EU POP testing for toys

The properties of POPs are briefly summarized as follows: highly toxic POPs substances can also cause harm to organisms at low concentrations,

Accumulative POPs are highly lipophilic and highly hydrophobic, and can bioaccumulate in the fat tissue of living organisms, which can endanger human health through the food chain. Highly mobile POPs can be spread to long distances through wind and water flow.

EU POPs testing and control material content requirements:

On November 14, 2015, the EU Gazette published a new regulation (EU) 2015/2030 to revise the EU Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPS) Regulation (EC) No 850/2004. The new regulation mainly revises the restriction clauses of short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP) in Appendix I of POPs, stipulating that the SCCP content in any substance or mixture shall not be ≥1%, and the SCCP content in articles shall not be ≥0.15%.

Materials for POPs testing:

POPs test all non-metallic materials inside and outside the product, metal materials do not need to be tested, and materials of different colors need to be tested. Generally, a mixed test method is adopted. If only SCCP in POP is tested, a single-point test method is generally adopted.

POPs certification and control product catalog:

Electronic and electrical equipment, toys, daily consumer goods, handbags or wallets, sports mats, skipping ropes, cosmetic cases, pencil cases and smart phone cases, etc.

POPs application process:

1. Fill in the application form,

2. Provide product information,

3. Send samples,

4. Test OK,

5. Issue report/certificate.

Cost: Evaluated according to the number of test materials of the product
