Product Description

What substances does the California 65 standard test?
California 65 is the proposal of the State of California to increase the attention to accessible toxic chemicals, referred to as "California Proposition 65", the full English name (California Proposition 65), which can also be called CA65 certification, CP65 certification or Prop65 certification. It is a chemical certification in the United States, testing products for total lead, total cadmium, phthalates, bisphenol A and other chemical items, and limit requirements.

So far, the products involved in the "California 65 Act" lawsuit include handbags, shoes, belts, clothing, fashion accessories, accessories, kitchen utensils, copper products, sporting goods, hand tools, furniture and many other products.

An agreement emphasizes the requirements for adjusting arsenic, cadmium, formaldehyde, lead and phthalates in various Halloween products. The California court also reached the following agreement with the defendant retailers, retailers shall not purchase, import, manufacture and provide products that have not been tested by a third party and contain excessive lead, and sell them to consumers in California.

How to deal with CP65 (California 65 Act)?

It is recommended that companies should try to avoid using substances included in the California Proposition 65 list of hazardous substances. Assess product risks and identify key controlled substances in products. All products sold in California need to be tested for California 65.

Although the safety content limit is associated with each chemical listed in the California Proposition 65 list, this limit does not regulate the chemical content in a specific product category. Therefore, we do not recommend testing the more than 850 chemicals on the list. Generally, laboratories will test lead, cadmium, and phthalate 7P, which are the most widely restricted. Generally, California 65 tests only test surface materials, materials that can be touched by hands.

What substances need to be tested for CP65?

1. Lead (Pb): Lead content of product contactable components

2. Phthalates 7P: (DEHP, BBP, DBP, DNHP, DINP, DNOP, DIDP) Phthalates content of product contactable components

High-risk components, test/provide warning labels

How to paste California 65, warning labels?

1. Any product sold in California that releases chemicals that are carcinogenic or reproductively toxic must be labeled with a warning.

2. Consumer products containing known carcinogens must be accompanied by a warning statement "WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer."

3. Products containing chemicals known to damage the reproductive system must be accompanied by a warning statement "WARNING This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm."

What are the procedures for applying for a California Prop 65 (CA Prop 65) test report?

1. Confirm the test items;

2. Fill in the test application form;

3. Send samples;

4. We arrange testing after receiving the samples;

5. Issue a draft report for confirmation;

6. Issue a formal report;
