Product Description

Hong Kong OFCA Certification

In Hong Kong, the Director of the Telecommunications Authority, after consulting the telecommunications industry, has stipulated the technical specifications of telecommunications equipment in the form of HKTA specifications. The technical specifications are mainly formulated to implement electrical safety, prevent interference, network compatibility and network interoperability. Local certification bodies or overseas certification bodies recognized by the Director of the Telecommunications Authority (hereinafter collectively referred to as "certification bodies") can issue certificates to telecommunications equipment that has been identified and meets the relevant technical specifications.

The Hong Kong Telecommunications Equipment Identification and Certification Program aims to regulate the identification and certification of telecommunications equipment, including radio communication equipment for use in Hong Kong and user indoor equipment connected to the public telecommunications network.

The Hong Kong Telecommunications Equipment Identification and Certification Program includes the following parts:

a. Classification of certification requirements;

b. Approved testing agents;

c. Granting of certificates;

d. Labeling arrangements.

OFTA certification is the abbreviation of the Hong Kong Telecommunications Authority's certification program for communications products in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Telecommunications Authority stipulates that telecommunications equipment that has been tested and meets the relevant technical specifications and has been granted a certificate by the Authority can be sold and used in Hong Kong. Since February this year, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has officially become a certification body authorized by the Hong Kong Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA), and provides certification services on behalf of the Hong Kong Office of the Telecommunications Authority for telecommunications equipment used or sold in Hong Kong.

Shenzhen has become one of China's largest communications industry bases in recent years, with an annual output value of more than 200 billion yuan for communications products such as mobile phones, cordless phones, walkie-talkies, base stations, and huge exports of telecommunications products. According to relevant sources, Shenzhen produced more than 200 million mobile phones last year alone.

Hong Kong Productivity Council, based on this cooperation, Shenzhen's mobile phones, base stations and other telecommunications products can complete the special mandatory certification requirements (OFTA certification) for telecommunications products in Hong Kong in Shenzhen, and can obtain a "license" to enter Hong Kong in as fast as two weeks, which is more than half the time before.
