ISTA 2A Verify Packaging and Product Ability to Withstand Transportation Hazards

ISTA 2A Verify Packaging and Product Ability to Withstand Transportation Hazards

Detail Information
Highlight:

Packaging Verify ISTA 2A

,

Product Transportation ISTA 2A

Product Description

What is ISTA 2A?

Refers to some simulated performance test procedures, applicable to packages not larger than 150lbs (68kg).

Standard overview:

ISTA 2 series is the most basic performance test series:

Verify the ability of packaging and products to withstand transportation hazards

Does not simulate actual transportation hazards to the environment

May not be consistent with shipping company's packaging rules

What items does ISTA 2A include?

1. Temperature and humidity pretreatment test:

Packages should be placed in the natural temperature and humidity environment of the laboratory for 6 hours before conducting temperature and humidity tests.

2. Temperature and humidity treatment test:

In order to properly determine the performance status of the package under preset temperature and humidity conditions, and it is known that the product may be damaged under extreme temperature and humidity conditions, then:

Testing is required under the highest temperature and humidity conditions; however

It is recommended to test according to the highest and lowest temperature and humidity conditions

3. Pressure test:

Calculate the test load according to the following formula

4. Vibration-fixed displacement vibration:

Number of vibrations: 14200 times;

Test frequency: Apply frequency to make the packaging box beat, and the metal sheet can just penetrate deep into the bottom of the packaging box. The applied frequencies are shown in the table below:

Test time: 48~95 minutes;

Test direction: 3 sides of the package

picture

5. Impact-drop impact test requirements are:

Determine the drop height or impact velocity based on the mass of the packaged product from the table below:

The drop sequence should be as follows:

6. Vibration - random vibration:

Take the spectrum in the table below and find that the Grms of this spectrum is 1.15. The peak-to-peak value of the theoretical stroke is 22.45mm (0.884in).

Test requirements: vibrate on 3 sides for 30 minutes

→1 side vibrates for 10 minutes

→Vibrate on 2 or 4 sides for 10 minutes

→Vibrate on 5 or 6 sides for 10 minutes
