If a single environmental stress is applied to the product, it can easily induce the failure of the product. Then, applying three different environmental stresses to the product can easily obtain a 3-5 times acceleration effect. At the same time, by combining different environmental stresses, it can also stimulate failures that cannot occur when a single stress is applied.
When conducting a comprehensive test in which temperature, humidity, and vibration stress are applied at the same time, from the mechanism of failure occurrence, the internal part of the product undergoing temperature cycling expands and contracts due to the difference in material expansion coefficients, and loosens at the joints. At this time, if humidity is applied, moisture will invade from the gaps, reducing the friction coefficient of the joints and connections. If vibration stress is applied again, the resonance phenomenon of the product will occur relative to a specific frequency. Through the repeated process of movement, moisture absorption, freezing, and resonance, the emergence of new failure modes (caused by the superposition effect of the single factor failure mode with a large acceleration and the comprehensive effect of the three factors) becomes possible.
