Type certification
NTRA certification of wireless terminal products

Wireless terminal products first consider their frequency bands, which must comply with the radio spectrum division regulations of the Egyptian Telecommunications Authority. CE and FCC have different certifications for wireless terminal products. Products based on CE certification must comply with the relevant coordinated standards of the R&TTE Directive on electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, radio frequency, and personal safety, and obtain the audit certificate or opinion letter of the EU Notification Agency (NB). Common coordination standards include: the audit certificate or opinion letter will indicate the product name, model, software and hardware version, frequency band, power, standards met, test report and technical document number, etc. FCC mainly considers compliance in terms of electromagnetic compatibility, radio frequency, and personal safety. Products based on FCC certification must comply with the relevant provisions of 47 CFR Part 2, Part 22, Part 24 and other chapters, and apply for and obtain the audit certificate of the American Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB).

NTRA certification of telecommunications terminal products

For telecommunications terminal products connected to the public telecommunications network, CE certification mainly considers electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and performance. It is necessary to pass coordinated standards such as EN 60950-1, EN55022, EN55024, and interface performance test standards such as TBR 21 and TBR38. The certification mode can be self-declared by the enterprise or by obtaining an NB certification certificate. FCC mainly considers electromagnetic compatibility, electrical safety and other aspects, and needs to comply with the relevant provisions of 47 CFR Part 68. Through tests such as TIA-968-A, the certification mode can be self-declared by the enterprise or by obtaining a TCB certification certificate.

NTRA Type Approval Certificate

(1) The competent authority shall issue only one Type Approval Certificate for equipment of the same brand and model when the equipment complies with the following requirements:

The applicant must comply with the requirements of the Type Approval Regulation

The telecommunications equipment complies with all relevant requirements

(2) The Type Approval Certificate identifies the certificate holder, the certified equipment, the standards to which the equipment complies, the manufacturer and the manufacturer's country of origin.

(3) The Type Approval Certificate is time-indefinite provided that no unauthorized modifications have been made to the certified equipment.

(4) The Type Approval Certificate does not authorize the use of the approved product for the provision of telecommunications services to any other person and provides that the certificate is for use only by the certificate holder. Approved products should not be combined in any manner that requires a license or permission under Telecommunications Act No.10/2003.
