German Packaging Law VerpackG
Introduction to German VerpackG
VerpackG is the German Packaging Law that replaces the previous German Packaging Ordinance VerpackV. VerpackG applies to all manufacturers, importers, distributors and online retailers that sell goods on the German market. All companies that sell goods in Germany must prepare solutions to arrange packaging recycling after use to continue trading in the country.
The new German Packaging Law VerpackG forces producers and sellers to register for a license for the first sale of products containing packaging, including outer packaging, final retail packaging, disposable containers/containers used in the catering industry, and shipping packaging materials, and must declare the packaging materials sold, types and weights.
