Kuwait KUCAS Certification
Basic Introduction
KUCAS certification is a certification in Kuwait. Kuwait notified the TBT Committee on December 17, 2006 that it intends to implement the new Kuwait Local Qualification Assurance System (KUCAS) to replace the current International Qualification Certification Program (ICCP). In consideration of the valuable opinions of TBT Committee members on the KUCAS guidelines, Kuwait hereby notifies the TBT Committee to extend the deadline for comments and postpone the implementation of KUCAS according to the dates indicated in items 9 and 10 of this notification, so that there is sufficient time to study various opinions and consider revising the guidelines as much as possible accordingly.
KUCAS Certification Program
1) All specified products must comply with Kuwait's national technical regulations or relevant international standards;
2) Each batch of specified products exported must be accompanied by an ICCP certificate (CC) for customs clearance.
3) Specified goods without CC certificates may be rejected or required to be sampled and tested when arriving at the port of entry of the importing country. If it does not meet the requirements of the importing country, it will be ordered to be returned to the port of shipment, causing unnecessary delays and losses to the exporter or manufacturer.
The ICCP program provides three ways for exporters or manufacturers to obtain CC certificates. Customers can choose the most appropriate method based on the nature of their products, the degree of compliance with standards, and the frequency of shipments. The CC certificate is issued by the PAI Country Office (PCO) authorized by Kuwait.
If it meets the ICCP certification program, there are three forms:
1) Pre-shipment inspection (PSI) and pre-shipment testing (PST).
Application for customs clearance inspection fee: If the FOB amount is less than or equal to USD 200,000: Fee = 0.45% × FOB amount (minimum: CHY 1,750), if the FOB amount is between USD 200,000 and USD 1 million: Fee = USD 900 + (FOB-USD 200,000) 0.3%, if the FOB amount exceeds USD 1 million
