What does red certification mean? Are RED certification and CE certification the same?
What is RED certification?
RED certification is a directive for wireless products.
RED (The Radio Equipment Directive) certification is one of the certifications for wireless products in the EU mandatory CE certification model. Products with wireless transmission frequencies such as tablets, wireless doorbells, Bluetooth devices, WiFi devices, wireless alarm devices, radio receiving and transmission equipment, phones, computers, etc., all need to apply for RED certification.
Are RED certification and CE certification the same?
RED directive is a directive within the scope of CE certification. CE certification contains many directives: MD directive, LVD directive, EMC directive, RED directive, etc., which will be determined according to different products. Which directives of CE certification are involved in the product;
For example: mechanical products involve the MD directive in CE certification.
CE-RED certification scope:
1. Short-range wireless remote control products (SRD) such as remote control toy cars, remote alarm systems, remote doorbells, remote switches, remote mouse, keyboards, etc.
2. Professional radio remote control products (PMR) such as professional wireless intercoms, wireless microphones, etc.
3. Wireless phone CTO, CT1, CT1+….
4. ISDN (digital telephone product).
5. DECT (enhanced digital wireless phone).
6. Mobile phone GSM, CDMA test.
7. Bluetooth products such as Bluetooth headsets.
8. Inductive data transmission equipment with working frequency <9 kHz.
9. Wireless broadcast receiver equipment.
The purpose of CE-RED certification implementation:
1. Clarify the scope of spectrum use;
2. The effectiveness of high spectrum use;
3. Facilitate the implementation of regulations and market monitoring between member countries;
