Certification introduction
The full name of SRRC is State Radio Regulation Committee, which is the State Radio Regulation Committee. In 1998, the National Radio Monitoring Center and the National Radio Spectrum Management Center were merged and unified into the China National Radio Monitoring Center.

In 1999, the Chinese government set special frequency ranges for different types of radio transmitting equipment, and not all frequencies can be legally used in China. That is, all radio transmitting equipment sold or used in China will specify different frequencies. In addition, applicants must pay attention to the scope of regulations for certain radio transmitting equipment. They must not only apply for "Radio Type Approval Certification", but also must apply for China Compulsory Certification (CCC) and/or Network Access License (MII) approval.

That is, SRRC certification (also known as SRMC certification) can be understood as radio model approval certification.

Certification meaning
In order to strengthen the management of the import and production of radio transmitting equipment, all radio transmitting equipment exported to the People's Republic of China, or radio transmitting equipment produced (including trial production) within the territory of the People's Republic of China, must hold a certificate approved by the State Radio Regulatory Commission ( The "Radio Transmitting Equipment Model Approval Certificate" issued by the State Radio Regulation Committee (SRRC) after model approval of its emission characteristics, and the model approval code (CMIIT ID) must be marked on the label of the factory equipment before it can be put on the market. In layman's terms, only radio transmitting equipment with my country's radio transmitting equipment model approval code can be sold and used in my country.

At present, some e-commerce platforms have issued SRRC certification requirements for related products. Relevant companies are advised to pay attention to avoid being removed from the shelves due to failure to provide SRRC certificates. In addition, subsequent national and local sampling inspections for model approval and certification will also become more and more stringent! Many companies have reported that they have been randomly inspected by relevant departments.

Micropower (short range) radio equipment does not require SRRC certification. For example, toy 27MHz and 40MHz remote control aircraft and remote control cars do not need to apply for radio model approval certification. However, it is still necessary to pay attention to the national standard requirements for electric toys, including relevant requirements for toy products with Bluetooth and WIFI technologies.

Since the SRRC testing fee has been cancelled, companies can apply for free. Since the application process is relatively complex, companies should be prepared to apply in advance. Conducting pre-test work can greatly increase the passing rate of the application! Avoid subsequent expenses or delays in obtaining certification due to failure in testing.

According to the latest policy, SRRC certification is free of charge. After the product passes the test and passes the review, the SRRC certificate can be issued. If the test result is unqualified, a supplementary test fee will be required. Once the sample test result is unqualified, you need to re-apply: the company submits a model certification application - the national agency formally accepts it - the company pays a deposit to the designated testing agency - product testing. In this way, the certification cycle will be seriously lengthened and affect the product launch.

To put it simply, although the application for the new policy is free, the application period cannot be guaranteed as before. The entrusted testing and certification agency spends entrusted service fees to help customers obtain the SRRC certificate in the shortest possible time.

SRRC certification test project

Products have different emission frequencies and different testing contents. The main testing items include: power, spectrum range, frequency tolerance, bandwidth, stray radiation, etc.

1. The equipment model under test should have test procedures, methods, standards, conditions, test connection block diagrams and special test accessories and the latest test report (copy or photocopy is acceptable)

2. If the transmit port of the device under test is a non-standard interface, the test connection cable of the device under test and the text or chart basis of the cable attenuation value stamped with the company seal must be provided.

3. If necessary, the applicant must send engineering and technical personnel to cooperate with the test

4. It is recommended that companies pre-test samples before sending them for inspection to increase the pass rate of the test!

Time schedule and precautions for SRRC certification application

· There will be market supervision and spot checks, no factory inspections

· December 4, 2018 - January 31, 2019, self-inspection stage (if you do not have a model approval certificate, you can apply to the corresponding testing agency)

· February 1, 2019 - March 31, 2019, the first round of random inspections. (Products that do not meet the qualifications will be removed from the counter. You can apply to be listed on the counter after you have the qualifications).

· On February 1, 2019, the key category system is configured with single product qualification management. When updating, you need to submit a single product model calibration certificate in the VC system.
