Introduction to IP testing

1. IP test purpose: to verify the protective effect of the product shell

Prevent the human body from approaching dangerous parts inside the shell;

Prevent solid foreign objects from entering the equipment inside the shell;

Prevent harmful effects on the equipment caused by water entering the shell.


2.The meaning of IP protection level: International Protection, such as IP67

6 is the first characteristic number, representing the dustproof level

7 is the second characteristic number, representing the waterproof level


3. The meaning and requirements of each level of dust protection:

 

IP1X

Protection against solid foreign objects - back of hand

The 50mm diameter spherical test tool should be sufficiently far away from dangerous parts

IP2X

Protection against solid foreign objects - fingers

The hinged test finger with a diameter of 12.5mm and a length of 80mm should have sufficient clearance from hazardous parts.

IP3X

Protection against Solid Foreign Objects-Tools

Test tools with a diameter of 2.5mm are not allowed to enter the shell

IP4X

Protection against solid foreign matter-metal wire

Test tools with a diameter of 1mm are not allowed to enter the shell

IP5X

Dust must not affect the normal operation and safety performance of the equipment
