Certification introduction
Brazilian ANATEL certification is for telecommunications products. All telecommunications products and accessories must obtain ANATEL certification before they can be legally commercialized and used in Brazil.
ANATEL certification is divided into two types: mandatory and voluntary certification. The approval process is the same for domestic and foreign products. If a product is subject to compulsory certification, the product's test results and reports must be consistent with the rules and regulations adopted by ANATEL. The product must obtain an authorization certificate issued by ANATEL before being put into use.
ANATEL certification basic information

· Type I certificates are valid until cancelled, while certificates of the other two types are valid for two years;
·The processing cycle is 8-10 weeks.
Mandatory certification categories
Three types of telecommunications equipment require compulsory certification:
Type I
· Terminal equipment connected to the Fixed Switched Telephone Service (FSTS) network through an endpoint;
· Equipment to connect private telecommunications networks to FSTS networks;
· Equipment connected to the FSTS network for the purpose of providing value-added services.
Includes: mobile phone, satellite phone, VOIP phone, mobile phone battery, mobile phone charging cable, phone signal cable, modem.
Type II
· Any equipment using radios not covered by Category I, such as low-voltage installations, unlicensed equipment and antennas.
Contains: TV and radio antennas, receivers, transmitters, wireless network equipment, RF automation equipment.
Type III
· Any equipment not covered by Category I or II that is subject to ANATEL's rules and regulations.
Including optical cables, cable connectors, mobile network signal transmitters.
Note: The certificate is valid for 2 years for Category I, 2 years for Category II, and 3 years for Category III.
Application process
1. The customer submits samples and materials to LCS;
2. Laboratory sample testing, and a test report will be issued after the test is completed.
3. The qualification issuing agency reviews the test report and issues ANATEL certification.
