KUCAS certification is a certification in Kuwait. Kuwait notified the TBT Committee on December 17, 2006 of its intention to implement the new Kuwait Local Conformity Assurance System (KUCAS) to replace the current International Conformity Certification Program (ICCP). In consideration of accepting the valuable comments of the TBT Committee members on the KUCAS Guidelines, Kuwait hereby notifies the TBT Committee to extend the period for submission of comments and to postpone the implementation of KUCAS in accordance with the dates indicated in items 9 and 10 of this notification to allow sufficient time Various comments will be considered and consideration will be given to amending the guidance where possible.
Basic certification information:
• Is it mandatory: Yes
• Regulated products: products regulated by regulations
• Factory inspection: None
• Certificate validity: per batch
KUCAS Certification Program:
(1) All specified products must comply with Kuwait national technical regulations or relevant international standards;
(2) Each batch of specified products exported must have an ICCP certificate (CC) along with the goods for customs clearance;
(3) Specified goods without a CC certificate when arriving at the port of entry of the importing country may be rejected, or sampling testing may be required. If it does not meet the requirements of the importing country, it will be ordered to be returned to the port of shipment, causing unnecessary delays and losses to the exporter or manufacturer.
The ICCP program provides three ways for exporters or manufacturers to obtain CC certificates. Customers can choose the most appropriate method based on the nature of their products, the degree of compliance with standards, and the frequency of shipments. The CC certificate is issued by the PAI Country Office (PCO) authorized in Kuwait.
If it complies with the ICCP certification program, there are three forms:
(1) Pre-shipment inspection (PSI) and pre-shipment testing (PST);
(2) Registration and pre-shipment inspection;
(3) Type certification.
